The Challenge

Kreig LLC maintained client information across multiple Google Sheets, with different datasets stored in separate tabs.

 

The team needed a faster way to retrieve and update client information without manually searching through multiple worksheets.

 

The existing process created several challenges:

 

  • Time spent locating client records across multiple tabs
  • Increased risk of updating the wrong record
  • Duplicate data entry across worksheets
  • Difficulty maintaining consistency between datasets
  • Inefficient workflow for staff handling client information

 

The firm needed a centralized interface where users could quickly find a client’s information and make updates without interacting directly with the underlying data structure.

How We Helped

We developed a custom Google Sheets solution using Google Apps Script to create a centralized client lookup and update system.

 

The solution introduced a dedicated lookup dashboard where users could simply select a client from a dropdown list.

 

Behind the scenes, the system automatically:

 

  • Searches across multiple data sheets
  • Retrieves relevant client information
  • Consolidates and displays the data in a user-friendly format
  • Allows users to review and edit information from a single screen

 

We also built a reverse synchronization process that automatically pushes approved updates back to the correct source sheets, ensuring data remains consistent throughout the workbook.

 

Custom action buttons were added to simplify the workflow, allowing staff to retrieve and update records with a single click.
